
Eli Rusi
After studying Psychology and Business Administration at New York University, Eli took over his family building restoration business. He led it from a small “mom and pop” shop to one of the Industry leaders it is today, touching much of the New York City skyline and safekeeping many of its most prominent buildings.
Eli helped found the community’s most successful advocacy organization, The National Albanian American Council where he was elected as Chairman of the Board. As Chairman, he helped galvanize the community to inform and motivate key figures in the US government to support and recognize the Independence of Kosovo and address the injustices and human rights violations suffered by Albanians in the Balkans.
In Recognition for his important contributions, North Macedonia, where Eli was born, appointed him as Honorary Consul to the United States
After losing his sister at a young age to breast cancer, Eli and his family established the Florina Rusi Cancer center in Diber, Macedonia in 2004 providing free cancer screenings to the local population using cutting edge technology which they supply from the United States.
Eli is currently the Chairman of the cancer center as well as the Dibra Community Organization here in the United States. In his philanthropic work, Eli supports and is a part of many non profit organizations such as Big Brother Big Sister, Donate Eight, Kids for Kids/St. Jude. Eli is committed to making a positive impact through direct involvement.
