The Albanian American Relations Council (AARC) attended a reception in Washington, D.C. honoring Congressman Gregory Meeks, Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. AARC representatives thanked him for supporting a letter urging continued U.S. troop presence in Kosovo and for addressing discrimination against Albanians in the Presheva Valley.
Congressman Meeks reaffirmed his commitment to Albanian issues, invoking the legacy of Eliot Engel, stating, “I am here for you guys.” AARC also met with Congressman Clyburn to discuss building support within the Congressional Black Caucus.
The Council looks forward to continued collaboration to strengthen Congressional support for Albanian priorities.
